My Practice

A Lacanian psychoanalytic practice for those who find their way of being in the world to cause them "too much trouble"

The Work

  • Speaking: The "fundamental rule" of psychoanalysis is to speak whatever comes to mind, as unfiltered as possible.
  • Opening the Unconscious: The unconscious returns what is repressed in symptoms, jokes, slips of the tongue, and dreams. In psychoanalysis, we create a space for opening and listening to the unconscious.
  • Radical Singularity: In everyday life, the uniqueness of each person is labeled away by others, but in psychoanalysis the radically singular is given voice.
  • Non-understanding: Understanding reduces the singular to a universal. Interpretation is not a process of understanding but rather one of speech impacting the speaking body.
